Temporary Circumstances

Listen in to Temporary Circumstances, a free resource on mental health, on this website or your favorite podcast platform. On the podcast, licensed professionals discuss many matters on mental health, focus on de-bunking myths and uncommon topics, and share education on mental health and wellness.
Temporary Circumstances podcast was inspired by Olena’s former mentor and boss, Bill Mason. Bill tragically passed away in 2019 but Olena was not ready to let go of the idea of doing a podcast on mental health. The name was inspired by the idea that helped Olena get through difficult times – the idea that everything in life is temporary, and this [pain] too, shall pass. Joined by her co-host, Cora Mayfield, the counselors discuss many topics surrounding mental health on the podcast.

When she was still an intern, Olena was trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Processing) for the treatment of trauma and PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), which quickly became her specialty. She believes in figuring out and treating the root cause of client concerns, rather than giving clients band-aids for your issues. In addition to EMDR, Olena also leans on person centered, somatic therapies, and is IFS informed. Although Olena has a degree in forensic psychology, she is not a licensed forensic psychologist and Be Free Counseling does not provide forensic psychology services.
